City of Glen Cove EMS

Organized in 1985 we provide 24-7 around the clock emergency medical coverage to the citizens of the City of Glen Cove Long Island, NY. We currently staff 3 Advanced Life Support ambulances, a mass casualty trailer and truck, first responder truck, utility van, mountain bikes and a 6x6 Gator along with support vehicles. We protect a 7 sq. mile district with a population of 27,693 in addition to the 12 sq. miles of waterfront and coastline of the Long Island Sound and Hempstead Harbor.

October 9, 2010

Glen Cove EMS took delivery of a new Medtec Type III Ford E-450 Ambulance this Friday. The new vehicle will replace the old 5282 that has been in service since 1988. The new ambulance has many new features and improvements in safety, usability, and functionality. The new 5282 is expected to be in service in the new few weeks and Glen Cove EMS will be taking delivery of two additional vehicles in the near future. October 8, 2010 - Upcoming Explorer Post Blood Drive

The Glen Cove EMS Explorer Post 1072 will be hosting a blood drive on Saturday, October 23 between 8:30am and 2:30pm. Please come down to support the future of Glen Cove EMS and join the select group of only 3% of Americans that currently donate blood. Only volunteer donors can provide the 38,000 blood donations that are needed every day. To donate you must be at least 17 years old, weigh more than 110lbs, and be in good general health. March 19, 2010 - Glen Cove EMS Orders Three New Vehicles

"Matthew Venturino, the service's second assistant chief, said that last month the Glen Cove City Council approved the purchase of three vehicles, two 2010 Ford E450s to replace the two 1998 editions — also known as "The Twins"— that the service currently uses, and a 2010 Ford Van.
