The New 5282
2010 Medtec Type III Ford E-450
Glen Cove EMS took delivery of the first of three new ambulances on Friday, October 8th. The new 5282 is a Medtec Type III Ford E-450 ambulance and is replacing the old 5282 which went into service in 1998. Many new features make this ambulance more comfortable for patients and allow the emergency medical technicians to work more efficiently. The ambulance has state of the art medical and communications equipment in addition to low-power draw LED lighting. The ambulance has new safety features such as reflective chevrons and blue lighting in the rear. Glen Cove EMS will be receiving a second, identical ambulance in the coming weeks and a third Medtec Type II "Van Style" ambulance.
