5299 - MCI Truck / First Responder
2009 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab
5299 was put into service in the summer of 2009 and serves as both a first responder and MCI truck. In addition to carrying all of the lifesaving medical equipment used on a day-to-day basis, 5299 carries a complete inventory of equipment for use at a multiple casualty incident. It carries additional backboards, basic life support "jump bags", oxygen bags, an oxygen delivery manifold, and medical triage and staging equipment. 5299 also has state of the art communication equipment to allow responders to communicate with agencies throughout Nassau County. The truck is capable of towing Glen Cove EMS's MCI Trailer which houses additional equipment for use at multiple casualty incidents and special events for medical rehabilitation. The MCI trailer also transports Glen Cove EMS's 6x4 All-Terrain "Gator" Utility Vehicle. The Gator is used for special operations and for standbys at events that are inaccessible by ambulance.
